Wilkinson County Schools is proud to welcome Coach Natase Juwan Hopkins to Wilkinson County High School as a Basketball Coach.

Coach Hopkins brings a decade of experience in education, along with a strong background in both instruction and athletics. A graduate of Valdosta State University with a degree in Criminal Justice, he is dual-certified in Health and Physical Education and Special Education, allowing him to support a wide range of learners in the classroom.

For the past six years, Coach Hopkins has served at Thomas County Central High School, where he balanced instructional leadership with athletic success. During his time there, he specialized in co-teaching science within Special Education inclusion settings while also serving as Head Coach for the Boys Varsity Basketball program.

Coach Hopkins’ approach to education is rooted in impact and purpose.

“My philosophy as an educator is driven by a commitment to societal progress. By inspiring and empowering our youth, we can cultivate a generation of informed, responsible, and compassionate citizens.”

As he joins Wilkinson County, he is energized by the opportunity to collaborate with staff and build meaningful relationships across the school community. He emphasizes relational leadership and is committed to developing both the individual student and the collective team.

“I look forward to partnering with our student-athletes and staff to foster an environment of growth and excellence.”

Described as loyal, responsible, and hardworking, Coach Hopkins brings a mindset focused on accountability and growth. His guiding principle—“You are always one bad decision away from a totally different life”—reflects his commitment to helping students make positive choices and stay focused on their goals.

Outside of school, Coach Hopkins enjoys writing and values time spent reflecting and growing both personally and professionally.

As he steps into this role, Coach Hopkins shared his appreciation for the opportunity to join Wilkinson County Schools.
