💙 Wilkinson County High School Senior Beta Giving Back 💙 The Wilkinson County High School Senior Beta Club is proud to be organizing a community service project to give back to children at the Children’s Hospital in Macon, Georgia. Our goal is to create 100 donation baskets to help brighten the days of young patients receiving care. Each basket will include items such as coloring books, crayons, teddy bears, and other small comfort items to help bring smiles and encouragement to the children. We are asking for the support of our students, families, and community members to help make this project successful. Donations of any amount are welcome, and no amount is too small. Community members may donate in several ways: • New toys or items for the baskets • Cash donations • Checks • CashApp to Ms. Qualls, the Senior Beta Club Advisor All support and contributions will be greatly appreciated by Ms. Qualls and the entire Wilkinson County High School Senior Beta Club as they work together to give back and make a difference in the lives of these children. Thank you for helping us spread kindness and compassion in our community. #WilkinsonCountyHigh #SeniorBeta #CommunityService #GivingBack #BetaClub 💙

We started Friday with a SWEET SURPRISE! Special thanks to board member Ms. Leigh Scott for dropping in, showing kindness, and spreading joy. Ms. Scott took time to personally visit and congratulate Mr. J. Brown's Algebraic Concepts class for being our Green Dot Challenge winners!

The Green Dot challenge is a data-driven initiative in which students work to move subject standard indicators from red/yellow to green, signaling mastery on our Progress Learning platform. It promotes personalized learning, student accountability, and targeted practice by improving proficiency across grade-level assignments and assessments. Way to go, students, and thank you so much, Ms. Scott!

📚 Read Across America – Tuesday! 📚💚 Today’s theme was “Reading Helps You Grow!” 🌱 Students and staff wore green to symbolize growth as we continued celebrating Read Across America Week! Not only did we have students actively reading, but we also had students presenting projects today! We even had two of our principals reading books to students, making today extra special and showing that literacy is important at every level. Reading helps grow our minds, strengthen our skills, and prepare us for a bright future — and we are proud to see that growth happening across our district! 📖✨ #ReadAcrossAmerica #ReadingHelpsYouGrow #LiteracyMatters 💚

Agriculture Sciences/FFA has been a fantastic addition to our CTAE program here at WCHS! This course gives students a break from their Chromebooks and desks and gets them into the dirt! They've enjoyed everything from making their own butter and Sprite using farm-to-table ingredients, planting 101 seeds to mark the 101st day of school, to doing projects on the anatomy of farm animals that included the function of the nervous system.

Who can forget the visit from an actual goat or the "Ag and Jazz" day, a day partnered with our concert band that cultivated minds and melodies! This month, they've explored the contributions of African Americans in Agriculture. Here are a few photos from our scholars in FFA!

Hands-on learning + problem-solving + perseverance = future engineers in the making!

After researching real-world engineering techniques, Mr. Knight's students documented their entire design process, created a mini mock-up, and used critical thinking to build a full-size cardboard chair strong enough to pass the ultimate test — P. Knight sitting on it for 5 minutes! 📦🪑

Learning Target in action:
"I am learning how engineers document their design process by researching, building, and testing a cardboard chair."
Awesomeness, students!
