Mrs. Taylor’s Gifted students explored real-world engineering principles this week, studying how tension and compression work together to create strong bridges. After learning the science behind structural design, students applied their knowledge by constructing popsicle-stick bridges. Their bridge needed to support 50 lbs and not only did it meet the requirement, it exceeded it, successfully holding 69 lbs before the test was concluded. 🔄 Day 4: Student/Staff Switch Day! 🔄 Today for Red Ribbon Week, our Warriors had some fun switching roles! Students came dressed like teachers and staff and our staff showed off their best student looks. From hallway passes and backpacks to ties and clipboards, the creativity did not disappoint! 💙💛 This theme reminded us that while we may play different roles in our school community, we are all working together to make positive choices, support one another, and stay on the right path. 💼 Day 3: Dress for Success! 💼 Yesterday for Red Ribbon Week, our Warriors showed up polished, confident, and ready for the future! Students and staff dressed in their best professional attire to remind everyone that when we stay drug free, we are prepared to look the part, think sharp, and chase success with purpose. 🌟 From suits and ties to blazers and dresses, our halls were filled with excellence and ambition proving that confidence and smart choices never go out of style. WCHS was briefly placed on lockdown this morning after a staff member’s safety badge was accidentally activated. There was NO threat or incident. Students and staff are safe, and normal operations have resumed.

🤠 Day 2: On the Trail to Success! 🤠 We continued Red Ribbon Week with a cowboy twist! We're gearing up for our annual recognition of Red Ribbon Week beginning Monday, October 27th!
Red Ribbon Week is an annual alcohol, tobacco, drug, and violence prevention campaign that takes place every October in the United States. Purpose: To educate the public about the dangers of drug use and encourage a drug-free lifestyle, particularly among young people.

Here are the details about our spirit week. Our school counselors are sharing information about the buildings, as well as other ways to celebrate, including poster and essay contests, assemblies, and more!

In the Month of October, Wilkinson County Schools proudly acknowledge National Bullying Prevention Month and Breast Cancer Awareness Month. We encourage our staff and students to show their support Wednesday, October 22nd and again on Friday, October 24th. 🧡💜
